Our Team

When you come to our practice, our entire team will make sure you feel welcomed and relaxed. We will immediately greet you and proceed to talk about such things as your children or a recent vacation. Prior to performing any dental treatments, Dr. Keider will spend some time getting to know you and what you hope to achieve from your visit. After an extensive or complex procedure, he will call you to see how you feel and answer any questions you may have. Why do we go to such lengths? We think the basis for personal care begins with getting to know you. Since you may feel the same way, we have included brief bios of our staff and a profile of Dr. Keider below.

Matthew Keider, DDS

Dr. Matthew Keider is a Michigan native who enjoys science and helping others. He attended Michigan State University for three years before earning an early admission to the Dental School at the University of Michigan. Dr. Keider received his DDS in 1993 and subsequently moved to North Carolina where he started his own practice.

While his college years are behind him, Dr. Keider continues to explore the latest changes and developments in dentistry. He attends up to 200 credits of continuing education in cosmetic and restorative dentistry every year. Dr. Keider has also studied endodontics at Tulsa Dental and occlusion and temporomandibular joint disorder (TMJ) at the Dawson Center for Advanced Dental Studies. He is a member of the Forsythe County Dental Society and volunteers his time at local preschools, where he teaches kids about the best ways to maintain their dental health.

Our Team

Carrie Gates does double duty as our receptionist and insurance coordinator. She’s the smiling face you see when you enter and leave our office. Before she worked here, this Brookstone Business College graduate was employed at an insurance company. Naturally, she’s great at addressing any insurance concerns you may have. Outside of the office, Carrie enjoys scrapbooking, reading, and spending time with her children.

One of our dental assistants is April Swyers. She helps Dr. Keider during your treatment and lends a hand to her colleagues when necessary. April received her radiology certification from Guilford Tech Community College; she is also certified in nitrous oxide and coronal polishing. She enjoys meeting new patients and loves serving them through quality work. In her free time, she likes scuba diving, reading, and camping.

In our office, you may see our certified dental assistant, Dawn Nelson, taking x-rays or sterilizing equipment. She may also give you patient education information. Although she received her degree from Wake Forest University, Dawn continues to study advances in dentistry. Outside of the office, she enjoys cooking, doing crafts, collecting rare bottles and glass, playing soccer, and spending time with her children.

Stephanie Seats, a Registered Dental Hygienist, has joined our team recently. She received her Associates Degree in Allied Health Sciences of Dental Hygiene from Trident Technical College in Charleston, SC, in 2004. She is a member of the American Dental Hygiene Assoc. And her interests and hobbies include reading and spending time with her daughter and family. Stephanie is extremely proficient at digital x-rays, intra oral photos, gentle cleanings, periodontal treatment and educating patients about oral health.
